Special Treatment Care
And
Rehabilitation
This is Sneakers.

An APHA Buckskin stallion
that injured his leg when caught in high tensile wire.
Not a good picture but he was in MSU for a 5 X 5 inch invert "U" laceration to
the dorsal aspect of the right hock was present exposing the cannon bone &
transecting the long digital flexor tenton.
He was lucky enough to not damage anything with any of the hock joints.
He needed stall rest until the wound healed.  The owner was working 12 to 15
hours a day & did not have the time to change the bandage as was needed.

Below is just example of what we offer on special treatment
care.
This is Betty Boop.
An APHA weanling filly that was injuries by a nylon braid electric fence.  Pictures
are taken here at 2 weeks after the injury.  She had  ripped off everything from the
hock to the pastern down to the bone.  Same type of  injury but more damage
then on the stallion above.  Vet advised to put her down.   This filly had to be stall
24/7 with cleaning & changing of the bandage.   This filly is going to make it with
the daily care she had here at Sunrise Farm.  She should have minimum scaring.

2-8-07 Update * 7 months later her leg is still healing.
She has no problem using her leg in any way and she will be ridable.
It is doing great!
We are here to help if you need us to care for your horse.
